Plant Oracles
Every plant is an archetype. That archetype can serve as a figure to embody, a devil's advocate, a teacher, or a dear friend with advice. The way you use the archetype is up to you.
Try living an archetype like wearing it as a costume; what does it feel like to be a California poppy for a day? Does it suit you? Which parts of your personality does it light up? Or is it oppressive, maybe?
Or try having an argument with the sky lupine. What counterarguments does it make? What are the points it makes? What does it point out that you didn't know about? What fresh insight does it uncover?
A manzanita archetype might make an interesting teacher. Try sitting at a table with it and letting it guide you. Or perhaps the Coast Live Oak is a dear friend waiting to shelter you in the shade.
What's even more to the point is that every plant is a lens. Think of them as spectacles that you can use to see the world in a different way. You know how tinted lenses turn the world different colors, sunglasses make things darker, and drunk goggles make the world dizzying? Every single plant archetype is a different lens. Look through that lens for a different perspective.
